How much does a storage unit cost?

We offer a variety of different storage units to fit your needs, so prices vary. Check out pricing and availability by clicking “Rent now”.


When can I access my storage unit?

You can access your unit at any time, 24/7, year-round, even on holidays.


What are your hours?

The office is open, Monday-Friday, from 9 AM – 5 PM, or by appointment. You can access your unit, 24/7. During the winter, on those days that the school buses are cancelled, it may take me a little while to clear the snow, but it is usually cleared by 9:00 a.m.


Can I drive up to my unit?

Yes, all of our units have easy drive up access.


What size units do you have?

The approximate sizes of our units are:- 

Small, approximately 5’x 8ft, (approximately 40 sq/ft, 320 cubic/feet). 

Medium, approximately 8’x 10ft, (approximately 80 sq/ft, 640 cubic feet). 

Large, approximately 8’x 20ft, (approximately 160 sq/ft, 1280 cubic feet). 

Extra Large, approximately 8’x 30ft (approximately 240 sq/ft, 1920 cubic feet).


How high are the units?

All of the units are approximately 90″ high.


What type of doors are available?

Most of our units have Easy close, double barn doors, some offer a roll up option. The door opening is approximately 68″ wide by 78″ high.


Do I have to sign a long term agreement?

No, you can use our units for a minimum of four weeks, or for as long as you like. You can cancel your agreement at any time.


Is there a security deposit?

No, we do not charge a security deposit.


Can I use my own lock?

Yes, of course. However we do require that you use a high security disc lock. For your convenience we have them available on this website or in the office.



How do I reserve a unit or pay the fees?

You can pay your user fees or reserve a unit online, through our customer portal. Or, if you prefer, call our office at 705-325-2462 and our friendly staff will help you. On the customer portal, you can also arrange content insurance, purchase a secure padlock, cancel your agreement, or arrange a move in or move out date.

 

When are the user fees due?

User fees are pre-payable at the beginning of your four week cycle.


Can I move in or out at any time?

Yes, once the customer information on the user agreement is completed and accepted, and the first payment has been made. We bill on a four week cycle, your four-week cycle will commence on your move in day. When you plan on vacating your unit, please let us know one week in advance. We do not provide refunds, so if you will be moving out part way through your four week cycle, let the office know before you pre-pay and we can adjust your invoice.

 

Do I need insurance?

Yes, content insurance is mandatory. Check with your home owner’s policy, some may offer storage protection, most do not. If not, then we offer a very reasonable policy, with excellent storage protection. You can rest assured, that your contents are protected against burglary, fire, smoke, windstorm, water damage, mold, pests and vermin. Please check our user agreement for all of the details.


How do I cancel my storage unit?

You can cancel online through the customer portal, or by sending an email to info@oroselfstorage.ca


What if I want to change my storage unit?

No problem, just get in touch with the office and we can help you with a different unit at our facility. If we don’t have a suitable unit available, we can put you on our waiting list and let you know when one comes available.


What items cannot be stored?

It is illegal to store firearms, ammunition, explosives, illegal drugs, items that you do not own, fuel, hazardous, noxious or flammable materials. Food, perishable or non perishable, people, pets, animals or insects, dead or alive.


Can I do any work in my storage unit?

No. The unit is for the storage of items only. You may not use the unit for any business or retail purposes, or for the sale or distribution of any goods or services. You may not use the storage unit or premises, as a workshop or studio of any kind, or for any illegal or criminal activity, business operations or practices of any kind, or any operation or behaviour that is deemed a nuisance, offensive or inappropriate, or that may cause any damage to the company property.


How secure is the facility?

We have 24 hour high resolution video surveillance and the site is well lit at night.
